Research Abstracts:

project 01: My main project right now involves an expansion and revision of my undergraduate thesis. My disciplinary thrust involves questions of identity and ethics in late modernity. Thus, the object of my research includes politics of identity, post-structuralist formulations and critiques of identity, the relationship between the particular and the universal horizons, and the exact position of singularity in that theoretical coordinate system set forth by the political debates of particularity/universality. I am seeking to construct a theory of ethics that relies on normative force over the explicit articulation of obtuse and normalizing axiomatics, as well as a theory of ethics that can function as a viable political stance in late modern identity politics.

project 02: My side project right now, which is in embryonic form, concerns the relationship between the possibility of a lived-ethics and pedagogy. While I largely focus on the postcolonial context, I am interested in articulating a theoretical architecture for understanding an ethics of singularity within a theory of pedagogy that is sensitive to postmodern, feminist, and postcolonial concerns.
